Ioannis Georgallis is currently an Assistant coach of BC Dubai. Originally from Greece, Ioannis brings a wealth of experience to the team. Before joining the coaching staff, he was a Professional Basketball Player, Ioannis Georgallis, a former professional basketball player and current coach, concluded his playing career as the team captain of Kolossos Rodou in the Greek Basket League. Primarily a small forward, Georgallis embarked on his professional journey in 2000 with Apollon Patras after gaining experience in youth teams at Ialysos and Kolossos. Throughout his career, he played for prominent Greek clubs such as Panellinios, Panionios, and Kolossos Rodou. Georgallis announced his retirement from basketball in August 2019.
Georgallis boasts an impressive playing career, highlighted by his achievements with the Greek national team. He clinched a silver medal at the 1999 FIBA Europe Under-16 Championship and a gold medal at the 2002 FIBA Europe Under-20 Championship. Additionally, he secured a silver medal at the 2005 Mediterranean Games while representing Greece’s under-26 national selection.
