DUBAI BASKETBALL PREPARES TO HOST EUROLEAGUE HEAD COACHES BOARD PRACTICE WEEK
The EuroLeague Head Coaches Board (EHCB) Practice Week is an educational initiative designed to give coaches direct access to the professional environment of the worldโs leading basketball clubs. Launched two years ago as part of the EHCB Coaches Academy, the programme was initially created to allow selected participants to observe training sessions, coaching methodologies and professional standards within EuroLeague and NBA organisations.
Building on its success and growing demand, the EHCB has now expanded Practice Weeks to coaches from around the world. Dubai Basketball will take part in the EHCB Practice Week from 7 to 15 January 2026, marking a significant milestone for the club during its debut EuroLeague season. As the newest addition to Europeโs premier basketball competition, Dubai Basketballโs inclusion in the programme underlines its rapid ascent on the European stage and its commitment to contributing to the development of the sport beyond competition.
This seasonโs EHCB Practice Weeks will span two NBA clubs, the Combine Academy and seven EuroLeague clubs, including Fenerbahรงe Beko Istanbul, Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet Belgrade, AS Monaco, Real Madrid, ลฝalgiris Kaunas, FC Barcelona and Dubai Basketball.
EHCB Executive Director Goran Sasic highlighted the importance of widening access to the initiative and reinforcing the organisationโs educational mission, stating โFrom the very beginning, the EHCB was built on the idea of educating cultures through world-class knowledge. The Practice Weeks have generated extraordinary interest, and by opening them to coaches from around the world, we are extending that mission. This is education without barriers, where learning happens directly inside the practice environment of the gameโs leading clubs.โ
Dubai Basketball Head Coach Jurica Golemac also welcomed the opportunity to host the programme in the city, saying โItโs a great initiative that allows coaches from different countries and backgrounds to come together and see firsthand how Euroleague teams manage such a tight schedule while practicing together. Sharing experiences and knowledge is something that helps all of us grow as coaches.”
As Dubai Basketball continues to establish itself in the EuroLeague, initiatives such as the EHCB Practice Week reflect the clubโs wider ambition: to inspire the next generation, lead through excellence and create a new, influential space for basketball in the region. By opening its doors to the global coaching community, Dubai Basketball is not only competing at the highest level but actively shaping the future of the sport in the region and beyond.
