28-year-old American guard McKinley Wright IV has been named the EuroLeague Basketball MVP of the Month for February, following a flawless stretch that saw Dubai Basketball secure five consecutive victories against some of Europe’s most decorated clubs.

The recognition comes at the end of a perfect month in which Dubai Basketball went 4 for 4, earning statement wins over Olympiacos Piraeus and Real Madrid at home, as well as a crucial road victory against EA7 Emporio Armani Milan, before closing the run with another home triumph over LDLC ASVEL.

Operating as the engine of the team throughout February, Wright averaged 14 points per game while logging an average of 28:48 minutes on court, recording a Player Index Rating (PIR) of 18.75 for the month.

The American guard opened the month with 18 points and a Player Index Rating (PIR) of 21 against Olympiacos, followed by 16 points and a PIR of 18 in the victory over Real Madrid. On the road in Milan, he contributed across the board for a crucial away win before delivering his standout performance against ASVEL, registering 16 points and an impressive PIR of 27 to lead the team and seal his MVP credentials.

Wright commented on the achievement, saying, “This MVP of the month means a lot to me. First, I want to give thanks to God for putting me in this position and allowing me to play this game and for being in my favour and blessing me with this opportunity.”

“I’m thankful for my teammates and the coaching staff for putting me in this position, being by my side throughout this journey, and helping me showcase what I can do for the team. It means a lot to be able to go 4–0 in the month of February. We’re trying to continue that so we can make a run for the playoffs and hopefully make a playoff push.”

Since joining Dubai Basketball, Wright has quickly established himself as a fan favourite, with his explosive bursts consistently energising the home crowd. His ability to dictate tempo and rise to the occasion in decisive stretches has made him one of the team’s most reliable performers during a defining period of the season.

Other top contenders also stepped up throughout February. While McKinley Wright IV starred against LDLC ASVEL as the standout performer of the night, Mfiondu Kabengele imposed himself in February recording two exceptional Player Index Ratings above 30 against Olympiacos and Milan. Meanwhile, Dwayne Bacon delivered crucial scoring displays, leading the team with 21 points against Olympiacos and 18 against ASVEL, reinforcing that Dubai Basketball’s success is driven by a roster filled with players capable of taking over on any given night.

Wright’s MVP of the Month honour not only recognises his individual brilliance but also reflects the momentum Dubai Basketball has built in its inaugural EuroLeague campaign. With confidence growing and performances peaking at the right time, Dubai Basketball are edging closer to a top-10 finish, which would secure a play-in spot in the team’s debut EuroLeague season.
