Dubai Basketball suffered a road defeat against Crvena zvezda in Round 5 of the ABA League Top 8 stage, despite showing great character in the second half.

The game did not start well for our team, as the hosts imposed their rhythm early on. Dubai Basketball found themselves in a double-digit deficit already after the opening quarter – 15:25 – while the gap grew even further by halftime, with the scoreboard reading 33:47.

However, the second half brought a completely different story.

Determined to respond, our boys came out of the locker room with renewed energy and focus, gradually chipping away at the deficit. In the third quarter, Dubai Basketball produced a stunning 16:0 run to cut the margin to just a single point – 54:55. By the end of the period, the game was fully open, with the hosts holding a narrow 63:60 lead.

Dubai Basketball continued to push in the final quarter and even managed to tie the game at 63:63, signaling a full comeback. Still, Crvena zvezda answered with a crucial 5:0 run to regain control. Despite multiple efforts to turn the game around, our team could not complete the comeback and eventually fell short.

Dwayne Bacon led Dubai Basketball with a standout performance, scoring a season-high 31 points in the ABA League, including 5 three-pointers, keeping our team in the fight throughout the game.

This result marks just the third defeat of the season for Dubai Basketball in ABA League.
