Dubai Basketball Overcomes Slow Start to Edge Paris in Round 13 Thriller

Dubai Basketball strengthened its growing reputation as one of the EuroLeagueโ€™s toughest home teams, producing a resilient turnaround to defeat Paris Basketball 90โ€“89 in Round 13 at Coca-Cola Arena. The victory lifted the UAE club to remain undefeated this season in the Coca-Cola Arena.

The game opened in a difficult fashion for the hosts. Paris dictated the tempo from the first possession, striking twice from long range within the opening minute and using their trademark high pace to build a 17โ€“32 advantage after ten minutes. The visitorsโ€™ accuracy from beyond the arc and their ability to push the ball in transition forced Dubai onto the back foot for most of the quarter.

The momentum shifted dramatically in the second period. Dubai responded with renewed defensive intensity and a 14โ€“0 surge that erased the deficit and completely changed the gameโ€™s rhythm. The home side held Paris scoreless for nearly three minutes and capitalised at the other end, eventually heading into halftime with a 46โ€“45 leadโ€”their first of the night.

Paris regained control briefly after the break, opening the third quarter on an 11โ€“2 run and reestablishing a multi-possession cushion. Dubai, however, stayed within reach, setting up a tense final period in which the hosts gradually wrestled the initiative back.

The closing minutes showcased Dubaiโ€™s composure under pressure. Key outside shots, including an important late-game three from Justin Anderson, kept the home side within striking distance. With the score tight inside the last minute, Dubai executed more cleanly, converting crucial free throws and forcing a Paris offensive foul that swung the momentum decisively. Although Paris hit a long buzzer-beater to trim the final margin, Dubai had already done enough to secure the win.

McKinley Wright delivered a standout performance, particularly in the fourth quarter, where he powered the comeback with an explosive scoring stretch and finished with a career night. Filip Petrusev played a major role in the first-half turnaround, while Andersonโ€™s timely shooting proved vital in several critical moments.

For Paris, Derek Willis led the visitors with an efficient scoring display, and the French side once again showed its ability to start fast on the road. However, as in recent outings, they were unable to maintain their early dominance through the final minutes.

With this win, Dubai continues to turn Coca-Cola Arena into a difficult destination for opposing teams, further solidifying its strong position at the seasonโ€™s midpoint. The team now looks ahead to its upcoming trip to Italy, where it will face Virtus Bologna on December 5th.
