Dubai Basketball Turns the Tide Late to Defeat Real Madrid in Round 27

Dubai Basketball delivered another statement performance at Coca-Cola Arena, defeating Real Madrid 93:85 in Round 27 of the EuroLeague and keeping its postseason ambitions firmly alive.

Less than 48 hours after overcoming Olympiacos, Dubai again protected its home floor against one of Europeโ€™s most decorated teams. The win reinforced a growing pattern: visiting contenders have struggled to impose themselves in Dubai, even when holding significant leads.

The game did not begin in the hostsโ€™ favor. Dubai had difficulty finding rhythm early and scored only 11 points in the opening quarter, allowing Real Madrid to take control behind disciplined defense and efficient execution. By halftime, the visitors were ahead 37:44, supported by a rebounding edge and consistent production from Facundo Campazzo and Edy Tavares.

Real Madrid extended its advantage early in the third quarter and briefly looked comfortable with a double-digit lead. At that stage, Dubai faced its biggest test of the night. The response was decisive. In a short stretch of just over two minutes, Dubai produced a 17โ€“4 run that completely altered the flow of the game. Defensive stops turned into quick offense, and the energy inside the arena lifted the home side into the contest.

Bruno Caboclo played a central role during that swing, punishing mismatches inside and stretching the floor with perimeter shooting. His impact on both ends helped Dubai regain belief, while the ball movement improved and shot selection became more balanced across the lineup.

By the end of the third quarter, Dubai had erased the deficit and moved in front. The final period followed a similar pattern. Real Madrid struggled to generate clean looks, going several minutes without a field goal, while Dubai maintained composure and continued to attack through multiple options rather than relying on a single scorer.

Dzanan Musa led the scoring with 20 points in his first EuroLeague meeting against his former club since joining Dubai. After carrying much of the offensive load early, he delivered again in the closing minutes, combining perimeter shooting with perfect execution from the free-throw line. McKinley Wright and Filip Petruลกev each contributed 16 points, providing stability and shot creation when Real attempted to apply pressure late. Dwayne Bacon added 15 points, while Aleksa Avramoviฤ‡ complemented the effort with 10 points and seven assists, helping control tempo during key possessions.

For Real Madrid, Campazzo finished with 24 points and was the most consistent threat throughout the game. Tavares added 17 points and nine rebounds, but the Spanish side could not recover after losing momentum late in the third quarter. It marked their third consecutive EuroLeague defeat, despite having controlled much of the contest.

Beyond the result itself, the victory carries significant implications for Dubaiโ€™s season. As a EuroLeague debutant, the team continues to close the gap on the play-in positions and has positioned itself as a legitimate contender to make a playoff push in the final stretch of the regular season.

Against two EuroLeague heavyweights in the same week, Dubai Basketball showed resilience, adaptability, and the ability to punish lapses at the highest level. Round 27 added another chapter to a season that continues to exceed expectationsโ€”built not on spectacle, but on execution when it matters most.
