Serbian Forward Petruลกev Strengthens Dubai Frontcourt
Dubai, 26 July 2025: Filip Petruลกev and Dubai Basketball have reached an agreement for the next three seasons, until 2028. The 2.11 metre, 25-year-old forward-center arrives from Olympiacos Piraeus, after he playing his last season on loan with Serbian powerhouse Crvena Zvezda.
He is the ninth addition for Dubai Basketballโs 2025/26 season under Head Coach Jurica Golemac, following the arrivals of Musa, Avramoviฤ, Wright IV, Kamenjaลก, Jaiteh, Bacon, Anderson, and Kabengele.
Dynamic Center
Petruลกev is a skilled front man who brings incredible versatility to the frontcourt. He combines solid post moves with reliable mid-range shots and the ability to stretch the floor.
In the 2025/25 EuroLeague season with Crvena Zvezda, Petruลกev averaged 14.1 points, 4.9 rebounds, and a 16.5 Performamce Index Rating. Simultaneously in the ABA League, he was selected in the leagueโs Best Five, alongside his now teammates Wright and Kamenjaลก. He averaged 13.6 points and 5 rebounds per game in just 21 minutes of action per game.
Still only 25 years old, Petruลกev has already played 110 games in top-tier club competitions, bringing both youth and experience to Dubaiโs EuroLeague debut.
Intense Career
Petruลกev spent two seasons at Gonzaga University in the USA (2018โ2020) before returning to Europe to play for Mega SoccerBet in Belgrade. He stood out on the Serbian team with 23.6 points per game and then moved to Anadolu Efes Istanbul for the 2021/22 season.
After a year in Turkey, he returned to Serbia and signed with Crvena Zvezda for the 2022/23 season, where he recorded a strong EuroLeague campaign with 10.7 points and 5.2 rebounds per game.
His season performance attracted the attention of Olympiacos Piraeus, who brought him to Athens. However, he saw limited playing time and ended the 2024/25 season on loan at Crvena Zvezda, where he had an outstanding year in both the EuroLeague and ABA League.
