Following the 2025/26 ABA League title, Dubai Basketball embarked on a series of official visits to leading government entities and strategic partners across the Emirate, presenting the championship trophy to the leaders who have supported the team’s journey since its inception.

As the first professional sports franchise established to represent the city of Dubai, Dubai Basketball’s historic triumph marks a significant milestone for both the franchise and the nation. By becoming the first team from the region to lift the ABA League trophy and delivering the UAE’s first title in a major international competition, the achievement reflects Dubai’s ability to transform ambitious vision into tangible success through commitment, collaboration and execution.

The delegation, led by Dubai Basketball Co-Founder and Co-Chief Executive Officer Dejan Kamenjašević alongside team captain Klemen Prepelić, commenced its programme of institutional visits with His Excellency Khalfan Belhoul, Vice Chairman of Dubai Sports Council and Chief Executive Officer of Dubai Future Foundation. The meeting underscored the role of innovation, vision and sporting excellence in shaping Dubai’s growing presence within the global sports landscape.

Dubai Basketball was subsequently received by His Excellency Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai, in recognition of the team’s achievement.

The championship trophy was also presented to His Excellency Saeed Hareb, Secretary General of Dubai Sports Council, by Dubai Basketball Technical Director Bojan Bajec, in acknowledgement of the Council’s continued support of the team’s development. The delegation later visited His Excellency Marwan Ahmed Bin Ghalita, Director General of Dubai Municipality, further celebrating a season that has united institutions across the emirate.

Concluding the tour, Dejan Kamenjašević visited His Excellency Ghaith Al Ghaith, Chief Executive Officer of flydubai, reaffirming the strong support from one of the emirate’s leading aviation brands.

The visits served as a fitting tribute to a historic campaign, highlighting the collective efforts of Dubai’s leadership, institutions and partners in supporting a project that has quickly become a source of pride for the city and a symbol of its growing influence across the globe.
