Dubai Basketball has signed Lithuanian-German forward Simas Lukosius, who will continue his development on loan at Unicaja Malaga before joining the club in the future. The 23-year-old, 2.00-meter wing has built his career between the United States and Europe, developing at Butler University before finishing his NCAA career with the Cincinnati Bearcats. Since returning to Europe, he has become an important part of Lietuvos Rytas and is also a member of the German national team.

During the 2025/26 season, Lukosius helped Lietuvos Rytas win the Basketball Champions League, playing a key role throughout the campaign. He averaged 8.3 points per game while shooting an outstanding 51% from three-point range across 16 BCL appearances. In the Lithuanian League, he recorded 6.5 points and 2.4 rebounds in 31 games. He also delivered a memorable performance in the Basketball Champions League Final, scoring 23 points and knocking down seven three-pointers to help secure the title.

Standing at 2.00 meters, Lukosius is a versatile wing with an excellent shooting touch and strong offensive instincts. His ability to stretch the floor, move without the ball and score efficiently from the perimeter makes him a valuable modern forward, while his size allows him to contribute on both ends of the court. By signing Lukosius and allowing him to continue his development on loan at Unicaja Malaga, Dubai Basketball gives him the opportunity to compete in one of Europe’s strongest domestic leagues while continuing his progression at a high level before joining the club’s long-term project.
